I find it helpful to lay down the base colors on seperate layers and then locking the transparency. This way you don't have to worry about smudging your color out of the desired area.

On the picture though, its freaking adorable! My sick brain went immediately to the more recent pop-song of lick ya like a lollipop...cuz I am sick sometimes.
